Clarksville is filled with exciting activities, even if you have to get a little creative, adventurous, or dig deep in remembering what all our cool city has to offer!
Depending on what your family calls fun, here are some things that my family enjoys, hoping we can relate on a few:
PLAY OUTSIDE! There are many, many tennis courts, parks, and bodies of water to choose from and catch some Vitamin D. We typically head over to Rotary Park before the sunsets and hike a few trails, play frisbee golf, or enjoy the new Wade Bourne Nature Center (that offers an amazing children’s area, too)! As soon as the sun is setting, you can enjoy dinner and ice cream less than a mile down the road at Golly G’s. You could even be the cool parents and let the kids enjoy dessert BEFORE dinner!
PROJECT 2231! Of course I have to recommend the Project 2231 warehouse! Shop at Miss Lucille’s from 5-6PM, enjoy dinner at Dock 17 around 6PM (we even have ribs on the kid’s menu!), and top it off by playing a round of laser tag, snag a lane to bowl, or play mini golf to complete the night! Fun for the whole family!
HANDS ON! Experiences are always a family favorite of mine! I just found that River City Clay offers private pottery classes! If you book in advance, you could book a class for a Friday night and enjoy a local eatery downtown after! Two doors down, you could hit up Strawberry Alley’s Upstairs and play even more! HOW FUN!
KAYAK AND PIZZA! Another outdoor day for ya: Book kayaks through Run A Muck and spend the day on the river! Afterwards, because who feels like cooking after a day in the sun, head to Thirsty Goat, right down the road! What a great way to show these small business owners some love!
GOLF! The River Club offers an awesome driving range that you can hit balls at until 9PM with lights available after sunset. They also offer live music on Friday’s at their restaurant, The River’s Edge Grille. So, if your kids don’t like hitting golf balls, maybe a different activity beforehand, but who doesn’t love live music?!
I hope you found a few ideas that you haven’t already considered, but if not, take a few things your family enjoys and lump them up, and make a day of it! Get creative, ask great questions when spending time together, and really be intentional. You could even have each member of the family plan a date night for once a month to make sure all interests are being met! We really love family time, and hopefully this summer brings lots of joy within your family as well!
