There are few things greater in life than a good taco. Whether you like the crunch of a hard shell, the gooeyness of a flour tortilla, or the nutty flavor of a corn tortilla, there aren’t too many people who will turn down a taco. Thankfully, Clarksville has many great establishments for getting your taco fix! Here are a few unique takes on the fan-favorite handheld treat:
LINDO VERACRUZ TAQUERIA
Probably the most classic street taco of the group but don’t let its simplicity fool you - the meat filling is full of flavor! If you’re a cilantro lover, you’re in luck! These come topped with onion and cilantro and are wrapped inside a soft, thin, double layer of freshly made white corn tortillas. These corn tortillas are hard to beat. Lindo’s has a small dining room, which can fill up quickly, but they also do take out orders.
EL GRULLO EXPRESS
Also known as the “yellow house”, this place offers drive through only. There are a lot of great menu items but one of their shining stars is the birria tacos. If you were on Tik Tok anytime in 2021, you may remember the birria taco craze that had people scrambling to make these delicious tacos. Basically, the meat is marinated in some incredible spices and then the tortillas are fried in the same marinade and the taco is dipped in a spicy sauce. The flavor is like no other taco! There are probably other places in town that make these particular tacos, but these are so good I’m not sure why you would look anywhere else!
WEST COAST TACO SHOP
If you’re into fish and shrimp tacos and an extensive self-serve salsa bar, this is your place! So many great menu items to choose from but the fish and shrimp tacos are patron’s favorites. You can get any taco made street taco style or you can step it up a notch and go “cali style” with guacamole and pico. The fish can be grilled or fried (but we all know the fried tastes the best) and the plump, juicy shrimp have just the right amount of spice. They both come with cabbage and a special sauce and you can’t eat just one!
KADIS TACOS
For all you veggie lovers out there, this food truck turned restaurant has a unique take on a vegetarian taco - fried avocado! Kadi’s Tacos serves this one in a flour tortilla with beans, the typical veggies, a crispy fried avocado, and creamy sauce, this taco is by far the most original on their menu. They offer several sauces with varying degrees of heat to complement the already delicious flavor of this taco. Their brick and mortar restaurant is in the Sango area and their food truck serves the Fort Campbell area.
